Lose Weight While You Sleep?
Getting more sleep can get you slimmer. TODAY’s Meredith Vieira talks to NBC chief medical editor Dr. Nancy Snyderman, Cindi Leive of Glamour magazine and participants in Glamour’s study about sleep’s effect on weight loss.
The Sleep Diet
- 7.5 Hours of sleep
- No caffeine after 2.30 pm
- No alcohol less than 3 hours before bed
- Same bed time every night
- Adults who sleep only 5 hours a night are 50% more likely to be obese
- Sleep deprivation increases the hunger hormone Ghrelin
