Health Food Imposters
Learn to eat smart about what’re heathy food or what’re not healthy food. TODAY diet and nutrition editor Madelyn Fernstrom explains why some of the items you pick up at the grocery store may not be as healthy as you think.
Food Imposters
- Check granola bar labels for sugar and calories.
- Mix your own granola.
- Look for percentage of fruit.
- Eat real dried fruit or actual fruit.
- Avoid high calorie waters with limited nutrients.
- Add water or seltzer to juice.
- Dark bread or pasta doesn’t mean healthier.
- Look for 100% whole wheat.
- Don’t be fooled by yogurt packaging.
- Eat plain yogurt with fresh fruit toppings.
